Dead Orbit Studios is looking for a Writer to help build our worlds from the inside out. Not through cutscenes or monologues, but through the details. A maintenance log left on a terminal, a warning label that tells you more than it should, the kind of lore that rewards the player who actually looks. This role exists to make the world feel like it existed before the player arrived.
You won't be writing the game. You'll be writing the world the game lives in.
What you'll be doingDeveloping environmental storytelling elements, lore documentation, and narrative cohesion across the station. You'll work within established systems and design constraints, your job is to support the experience, not redirect it. Strong collaboration with the design lead is essential.
What we're looking forWriting samples, a feel for sci-fi worldbuilding, and the discipline to serve the story the game is already telling. If you write well and know when to get out of the way, you'll fit right in.
What you getThe chance to work on an original title from the ground up, full credit on everything you contribute to, a permanent position within the orbit and compensation when Dead Orbit Studios reaches profitability. You're not filling a seat, you're helping build something from scratch with a team that intends to see it through.
