Dead Orbit Studios is looking for a Level Designer to help shape our worlds. This is a volunteer role built for someone who wants real project experience, a portfolio piece with teeth, and a team that takes the work seriously regardless of its size.
You don't need a resume full of shipped titles. You need a genuine feel for space, pacing, and how environment tells a story. If you've built levels in UE5, messed around with geometry and lighting until a room felt alive, or spent more time than you should have analyzing why a corridor in a game felt oppressive, we want to talk to you.
What you'll be doingDesigning and iterating on level layouts that support player navigation, systemic interactions, and environmental storytelling within the project setting. You'll work closely with our lead designer and build spaces that feel functional, lived-in, and on the verge of falling apart.
What we're looking forA portfolio or examples of level design work, comfort working in Unreal Engine 5, and someone who communicates and shows up consistently. Experience level matters less than attitude and output.
What you getThe chance to work on an original title from the ground up, full credit on everything you contribute to, a permanent position within the orbit and compensation when Dead Orbit Studios reaches profitability. You're not filling a seat, you're helping build something from scratch with a team that intends to see it through.
